Some possible points of failure on CHGDOMSVR. The server is not down. We use the list job api to ensure that the server is down. I can send a sample offline. You are running multiple versions of domino, (like 6.0.3 or 6.5) and the server that you are attempting to run CHGDOMSVR on is of a version that no longer has that version of Domino. For example let's say you were running 5.0.12. You upgraded to 6.0.3 and it automatically updated your Domino server to 6.0.3, which will happen the first time you move to a multiversion capable version of Domino. Then you upgrade to Domino 6.5 but you fail to run UPGDOMSVR. Then you remove the support for Domino 6.0.3. You cannot successfully run CHGDOMSVR. (I am not sure that the Domino server would actually start.) This is documented as a point of failure on several sites but haven't seen it in practice. We have run a CL which ends the server, does CHGDOMSVR SERVER(dom-server-name) ADVSRV(*PARTITION), and restarts the server. The CL dies with an error code (which I don't remember) on the CHGDOMSVR command. We will be running this CL again tonight and I will post the error code tomorrow.
