Steve, I currently use BRMS on my server which has very close to 24/7 uptime. I get 3 hours, one night per week to perform maintenance. One of those weeks is used to perform a save of everything that the interactive notes backup does not save. BRMS is GREAT! It requires a lot of setup, but once your their it is very automated. I only touch my backup software when I want a restore, even my downtime backups are automated with a feature called BRMS console monitor. I receive on average 2 restore requests per week (HR sucks), and have never run into a problem. BRMS also has an awesome feature that you can print a recovery manual (which I have emailed to an external email address) telling you how to restore your entire system and which tapes you will need in case of a disaster. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Matthew Patee Midrange Systems Manager ABM Industries mpatee@abm.com (415) 351-4309 fax:(415) 351-4331 steven.donnellan@simo njersey.com To: domino400@midrange.com Sent by: cc: domino400-admin@midra Subject: BRMS nge.com 03/04/2002 06:10 AM Please respond to domino400 This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] We've been thinking of buying BRMS/400 so we can back up our Domino Server without having to ENDDOMSVR first. When we asked our BP about this, he said "No, that doesn't work! You should cluster your server and back up from the clustered server" Which is the best approach?
