Ok - So there does not seem to be any place that explains what is wrong with
a document, or what could be wrong with an agent that is causing the
problem.
Compacting the database with the -c and -i options cleaned up some
things, but has not fixed the problem, or my agent is creating a new problem
each time it saves.
All I want to do is open a document based on finding it in a view,
change the value of one field and then save the document. The field that
is being changed is part of the key in another view. The strange thing is
that the document in question does have the value of the field changed when
I go back and look at it later, and the data in the connected DB2 database
also has the value changed. So is it the document I just changed that
has a bad structure or is it the agent that is running ???

I went to
http://notes.net
and searched on 'Document has invalid structure'. I got numerous hits.
Some of them pointed to changing a document field type and then when you
resave a document it crashes with this error. Others pointed to some bug
in which you have to convert a numeric to string to numeric or something.

Also, there are 5 technotes in my edition of Knowledge Base pointing to
that same error.

Then I went to the Lotus Support site at:
http://support.lotus.com/lshome.nsf
and searched here and found 9 hits on your error message.

Happy hunting!

I have a bunch of documents that I have created into a Domino database via
an Agent doing a data load.
I need to change the value of a field on some of the documents, again using
an Agent.
When the change agent does the save method after changing the necessary
field, I get a
'Notes Error: Document has invalid structure' message and the
agent dies.

After getting this message I tried to copy the database to a new database
and copy the records, and I get the same message once the database design
has been copied.

Is there something that I am not doing to the documents when I load them
with the Agent ??
Is there something that needs to be done to the document that I am changing
with the agent ??

Any ideas are welcome ??
