Ah, that is unfortunate.  Jon Paris, on the news.software.ibm.com
code400 newsgroup seems to think that WDSC needs a 750+mhz PC and 256mb
memory at a minimum.  Right now I don't have that.  I think I'll be
sticking with V5R1M0 for a while.

I'm afraid my English seems to be failing me, and everyone keeps
misunderstanding me :-(.
To clarify your questions:
No you cannot have WDSC V4.0 and WDT V5R1M0 on the same PC (I have WDT
on
my desktop and WDSC on my laptop - both of which connect to the same
host
servers).
Yes, V5R1M0 is uninstalled prior to installing WDSC 4.0
