Sorry, I don't understand your suggestion.  Here is the step-by-step on
my problem:

Key the 1st part of the text until I get close to the end of the line.
Key a plus sign to indicate a continuation.
Press enter.
A blank line is inserted to key the rest of the text (good!), but the
record containing
the existing column heading following the blank line is converted to all
caps (bad!).
