Following line changes to capitals

If I am keying DDS for a physical file, and I am keying the TEXT for a
field, if I put a "+" at the end of the line to indicate a continuation,
then the following line (if it is a column heading) gets changed to all
capitals.

It's probably another hidden option, but I can't find it.

Anyone know how to turn this "useful" option off?
