If your modification mark uses the leftmost 5 characters before the spec type, there's a sample macro that will insert these for you (I think it was on the IBM website, but I can't find it now - I can email it). I've mangled it a bit so if I use Ctrl-Enter it'll insert a new line with the mark, Ctrl-T will tag an existing line and Alt-Q will tag the line as deleted. Otherwise you might be able to mangle it further so you don't need the extra clipboard. Code macros can be a real time saver. Cheers Robin
