I don't think there's much hope for SP4 - but for the next release there's a
new comms layer planned (it's about time  the current one has never worked
worth a darn).  Let's keep our fingers crossed that it performs better - it
couldn't be much worse!

As to the speed difference - I'm not too surprised - the auto start uses a
sockets connection I think whereas the other one is tied to the 5250 session
and communicates ???? I don't know - ICF maybe?
