Oh, that could be the problem. Some of the source I work with looks like a rainbow! Code400 fills the line with a NULL character in it with garbage. So we wrote a utility to convert all the NULL characters to blanks in all of our source members. -----Original Message----- From: owner-code400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-code400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Phil Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2001 12:44 PM To: CODE400-L@midrange.com Subject: RE: Option in PDM for starting up code/400 I'm connecting to V4R5 machines. There are V4R4 ptf's available, and you probably need them. The communications wizard will check whether you have the necessary ptf's, and if you don't which are missing. But I have yet to get it working. Are you a code/400 user, or are you giving it a try like me? The problems I have are with the application locking up after working with a couple source members. Or with the code designer. That locks up all the time. I can't get back in, either, without rebooting. I even tried just logging off (I'm using W2k) but that wasn't good enough. If I specify a different server then I can connect after the app crashes (without rebooting). The problems occur when transferring data to/from the as400 - saving, compiling, verifying, opening. I have no problems while editing. I have had a couple experiences with source code becoming corrupted (during saving). That only had to happen to me twice to become very hesitant to use it. I am on V4R4 and I get the "missing a back-end PTF" message popup. CodeEdit works but not CodeDSU. Go figure... Also, mine does not have /M Y /N either.
