Greetings!

Thank you all for your replies. They have been comforting, if not very
helpful.

I did spread some misinformation. I have V3R2M3 on my PC, and not V3R2M2
as I stated in my OPEN LETTER to IBM. I received the load cd from IBM
just prior to Fall's Common meeting in Baltimore. We have V4R4 on our 720
AS/400, and have not moved to V4R5 yet. I was under the impression that
the client version of V4R5 could not be put on the PC until the AS/400 had
been updated as well. I am also trying to code in COBOL (the better
choice!) and not RPG, soooo ......

On my pc I am a power user and an administrator. I should have enough
windows authority to install any program.

All that aside, I have still downloaded what I believe to be the correct
service pack (002) from the web and am not able to install it. I have not
been back to the web site to confirm this, but ...

Bugs I have found, (and some have been responded to in other places);

Auto indent for CL. You can specify to use automatic indenting, but
there is no way to set it up. You can set it up in COBOL.

Nice help - Highlight line. Thanks IBM, it helps me stay on
track. Problems: It ALWAYS jumps back to the beginning of the line when
there is a blank line (used in COBOL for readability), or to the end of the
line if it is a short line. It should stay in the same column all the way
down the page. Also when the highlight line is turned on, the auto indent
functions do not work at all.

      I have a display capable of 1600x1200 resolution. I can't use this
resolution because Code400 (along with some other windows programs) does
not use the system font setting for SOME of their prompt windows. For
example, when I ask to compile the program, and prompt, (or open a new
file, or ...) I get VERY small type which is only viewable if you use a
microscope. Why does it not use the system font default???

I also have a problem with the prompts that DO follow the system font
settings. They seem to be cut off at the bottom and right sides. The
prompt on the compile for debug options (source, list, all) it is off the
screen, and unless I stretch the window to the right I don't even see it.

Code Project does not seem to prompt before executing a remote
command, even when asked to do so. (CpySrcMbr is one I can think of currently)

Code designer does not work with logical file specs??? What's up
with that? Is the logical spec so different than the physical spec?

Help system (documentation) is not searchable. I don't have an all
the time connection the the internet, and could use to have the searchable
documentation/help on my PC. Even if i could download it from the web it
would be helpful.

I'm sure there are others that I have not remembered. I know that I am new
to these tools, and am still learning. That adds to the frustration of not
being able to use the full function of the Code/400 Toolset.

I am on hourly support, and don't like to have to pay several hundred
dollars to help IBM pay for their bug fixes. I don't mind spending the
money if it's a "How to" question such as setup or usage. When it is
clearly a bug, and does not work as advertised (or expected) it should not
be charged to the customer. We are going through that with support for the
Personal Communications group because the SNA ASYNC dialup does not work
with Win 2000 Pro. (We must be the last company in the country to use this
type off connection!!)
