Gene,

Try going into Outlook Express, then Tools, Accounts, and add
news.software.ibm.com as a news server.  Then try to get the list of
newsgroups on it and see if you can connect that way.  BTW, I don't have a
problem using the link below, but I already had the server set up.  I hope
this helps - good luck.

Jon, the VARPG newsgroup sounds interesting, but, when I type this URL into
my browser:

news://news.software.ibm.com/ibm.software.varpg

the following error box appears:

"Outlook Express"
"The server could not be found."

What's wrong?
