Tom,

The Microsoft JVM is not sufficient in itself for running Code/400 Java
"macros" on your PC. You also need to load the Java SDK from either Sun or
IBM. Code/400 does NOT use the JVM or SDK on the /400 for this purpose.

However, if this is the stick you need to get Java installed on your /400,
I'd say run with it! <grin>

Thanks Edmund.

To be sure, I dl'ed the Microsoft <shudder> Win95 JVM again, and got it's
latest iteration. I reinstalled, rebooted and get the same messages from
Code/400. I verified the Win95 JVM install by running Caffeine mark 3.0
(got 4749, Warp does better!).

It's almost got to be the /400 that's the 'problem'. I have no listing for
Java on the development box in the installed licensed programs. I assume we
just did standard upgrades all along and never added the new cool stuff as
it came out. We haven't used java and never needed it till Code/400 came
along. Looks like two steps into the 21st century are needed now.

Time to get the ops folks in gear.
