Elsa,

Our upgrade was from PRMS 8.4 so it was different than a BPCS upgrade.

It was very successful. We put together a great team and spent over two years in testing and development to get the system ready for our business requirements.

It's all about having a great plan, testing until you have every business possibility working as intended, and then execution.

Hello Kevin,

We are about to start our V8.3.4. ERP LX conversion (from V6.01) do you have any suggestions or lessons learned that you would care to share?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Elsa

Kevin,

We just completed a conversion from PRMS to LX 8.3.4 and we implemented ECM for orders and invoices. We built our own programs for ASN's though as ECM was too cumbersome.

Once configured correctly it works really good.

You definitely need translation software for the communications and mapping data to and from ECM.

Kevin,

ECM is not too bad to work with. We converted from a custom EDI interface in 4.04 to ECM in 8.33. We use a translator to do the communications and mapping to load the ECM files. I don't believe ECM will do communications, but I could be wrong. If you already have EDI translation software, you can continue to use that to load your ECM files.

Kevin,

ECM is not an easy product to use. We have a range of adapters which will post Inventory Transactions, Customer Orders and Purchase Orders to BPCS quickly and easily. Please let me know if you would like details.

Is anyone using ECM to send and receive EDI transactions.

If so, can you advise whether we would need any 3rd party software to actually send the messages.
