The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
We've taken several clients from older versions (including V4) to newer versions (including LX). Are you on maintenance with Infor? There are some products with significant differences (for example, CEA replaces GLD) and some products where functionality is similar - just lots of enhancments, which you can choose to take advantage of or not, and field size changes, which you must deal with (for example, item number expansion). If you are thinking of this as a purely technical upgrade - which certainly can be done - for the reasons mentioned above, in most cases, it's not quite that simple. Users may need to be re-trained and custom reports may need to be re-written. The effect of any modifications will need to be considered. Just to name a couple of items to consider. Feel free to contact me offline for further information.

subject: [BPCS-L] Upgrade from BPCS 4.03 to BPCS 8.3
We are in the process of setting up a plan to upgrade from BPCS 4.03
(pre CD - running MS4) to 8.3.
Anybody through this process? Any suggestions on which route to follow
e.g. going to 4.05CD first etc. would be appreciated.
Regards
Jan
