Is there some major program and/or major program logic which actually
makes use of the ELA file ??

Norm,

The ELA holds hard allocations. The soft allocation/requirement is in
the FMA. If you take a look into FMA right after you cut a shop order
you will see records for each quantity of component that the parent
needs.

Okay. So the actual allocation is in ELA but what other files and
fields, for inquiry purposes, have that data as well? I thought the ILI
had that information stored but as I look closer it doesn't appear that
it does. Is it only the ELA and IIM files that are updated with shop
order allocations?

Thank you

In any version the allocation is in the ELA. Item master and warehouse
Files show the allocation in the detail for inquires but the ELA is the
allocation file

When a shop order is created and inventory is allocated, what files
contain the allocation data?

Any assistance will be appreciated.
