Order notes are stored in the ESN file in version 6.

Order header notes will have SNTYPE = 'O' and SNSHIP = 0.
Order line notes will have SNTYPE = 'L' and SNSHIP = line#.
The order# is stored in SNCUST.

Quote and RMA notes, however, are stored in the ZND file, with
NDNOTT = 5 (quote header)
NDNOTT = 6 (quote line)
NDNOTT = 7 (RMA header)
NDNOTT = 8 (RMA line)
where NDNKY1 = quote/RMA and NDNKY2 = line#.
