As I remember the use of barcode in dds would be a method during the CimPath era and I am sure with an ipds printer of some sort it would work fine. Be wary that dds barcode keywords will be finicy with OS/400 spooling rough a network to a "printer with a mind of its own" ....ho! ho!

Look at SFC2XX shop floor. I believe that there was a "PRINT SHOP PACKET WITH BAR CODES option there. You can look at it to see how they were doing it.

We show CIM module installed. Are there DDS printer files using BARCODE
keywords as part of the CIM installation? Trying to unravel "the
mystery".

[BPCS-L] BPCS405cd-CIMPATH/Barcoding

We are revisiting our CIMPATH installed product. I see that it writes
transactions to the NFB file. Then, it must require some PC based
system to receive a download of transactions from the NFB file, and then
print out the bar-coded transactions on a PC based printer.

That solution does not seem like a modern way to do this. Does anyone
have or know of a method to take the various NFB transactions (or
directly from BPCS programs - bypassing NFB) and get the same or similar
looking bar-coded documents on a RMTOUTQ printer?

TIA,
Don
