There are some limitations to BPCS lot control functionality because the MPS/MRP planning logic does not employ lot attributes (like lot expiration date and lot ingredient properties). Those limitations are presented with illustrations here: http://www.unbeatenpathintl.com/bellspod.html That URL also presents a "Bells & Whistles for BPCS" software product that overcomes those limitations. The trademark is "Peas in a Pod." They are currently using BPCS version 6.1, considering an upgrade to Lx in the near future. "Due to the enlargement process currently underway at their branches, we have been asked to look at the Requirement and Success factor of implementing Lot control - for the purpose of stock rotation and traceability. Can you advise if any FMCG company (preferably food) has moved into lot control on BPCS, either locally or internationally? " Thank you for considering this log.
