We have some "dummy" warehouses for special types of items.* QC problem, customer returns, need inspection ... some of this involves sub-assemblies and completed items, that we may try to dismantle
* Materials used seasonally, not want them eating factory space in off-season* Materials we bought for customer parts we no longer making, so they are in one place until we find buyer for this excess.
In all these cases, this inventory is in a warehouse that is non-nettable, non-allocatable from an MPS/MRP perspective. Until its situation is resolved, we have the $ totals on our accounting books, but not contaminating continuing production.
We are in the process of scrapping few excess components (manufactured and purchased excess) in the inventory and those are not required in the near future and also, we do not want to make those items status inactive because of internal issues. I would like to know how we can avoid replinishment for these components when MRP/MPS is run because of wrong forecast for its parent item. is it possible to avoid replinishment by using new item type code with manufacturing flag set to 0 (Zero). we are using BPCS version 6.0.02.Your help is appreciated.
