Mahesh:

You can easily prevent MRP from planning these Items. Just change the Item's
Order Policy Code to a blank which will indicate to MRP not to plan the Item.
You can access the Order Policy Code using Facility Planning Data Maintenance
(MRP140).

Take care!

Subject: [BPCS-L] Avoid replinishment of component items

We are in the process of scrapping few excess components (manufactured and
purchased excess) in the inventory and those are not required in the near
future and also, we do not want to make those items status inactive because of
internal issues. I would like to know how we can avoid replinishment for these
components when MRP/MPS is run because of wrong forecast for its parent item.
is it possible to avoid replinishment by using new item type code with
manufacturing flag set to 0 (Zero). we are using BPCS version 6.0.02.

  Your help is appreciated.
