Are you sure it's always JUST about the money!? Would you say "Nishikawa Standard Company isn't in business to further the technological advancement of door and window systems. They are in business to be profitable"?? Can't it be both? Doesn't one lead to the other? ;) JRB -----Original Message----- From: bpcs-l-bounces+jrblack=rogers.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bpcs-l-bounces+jrblack=rogers.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of daparnin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, May 16, 2006 1:54 PM To: SSA's BPCS ERP System Subject: Re: [BPCS-L] SSA Global acquired by Infor It's always about the money. They aren't in business to further the technological advancement of ERP systems. They are in business to be profitable. I don't think that they've owned MAPICS long enough to do anything with it, although I don't keep up on the MAPICS world. I do know that Future3/Autorelease has had hooks into the various versions of MAPICS and BPCS for years so they shouldn't be completely new to it. I'm optimistic that they will be good guardians of the product. Do we know how well INFOR has serviced the other ERP it has aquired before SSA's? When Gores Technology bought out the bankrupted SSA, making it SSA GT, that was a good thing for the future of BPCS. >I wonder what this will do to the software maintenance costs??? > >Kevin Washburn -- This is the SSA's BPCS ERP System (BPCS-L) mailing list To post a message email: BPCS-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/bpcs-l or email: BPCS-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/bpcs-l.
