Larenzo: BPCS' purge functionality leaves a bit to be desired... This is the case with every other ERP package I've ever seen. You may want to look into ARCTOOLS (http://www.arctools.com) . It is a purge and archive product for the AS400 that allows you to create purge functionality like writing a query. So - you can use it on any AS400 files, not just BPCS. There is also a "BPCS Module" available, which includes pre-defined scripts for purging various functional areas within the software. So, you don't have to write the scripts yourself. It was developed on 6.1. If you are using the PUR900 "purge" program (I put "purge" in quotes because it's not really a "purge" - it's just setting a flag on the record), you could easily use ARCTOOLS to do the rest of the job (or to "do the job right") and get the records out of there. If you have other existing processes to do purging (program, sql, whatever) and they run in purge-only mode (i.e. they don't archive the records, they just delete) there is a feature that will magically add the archive feature to your existing purge-only gizmo with no programming. Just run your thing, then run this thing and you'll magically put all the deleted records back someplace else. I hope this helps. ******************************************************** Go... Are there any menus and options that are available to archive the HPO file and the HPH file. And what things do I need to consider when writing a purge program for HPH and HPO? Thanks in advance. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
