We nominally run 24/7, with the overnight shifts doing far less on the
AS/400 than daytime, and use the save while active function and
incrementals during the week, with a full (not system) save on Saturday
morning. It has worked well for us. Just keep in mind that you need to
keep the QP1ARCY report that prints out of the save job to tell you which
tapes are needed for a complete restore. All of this assumes you use BRMS.

Hi

We are being asked to provide BPCS 24 x 7 by several of our sites. What
products are you guys using and how do you manage it. ? The initial
requirement is for very simple barcode swiping which needs to update BPCS
when available again. We have traditionally avoided the save-while-active
options for our overnight backups. I remember seeing a product to perform
file reorgs on the fly (can't remember the name), is anyone using this ?

Cheers

Regards
