Hi Andrew,Further to the excellent advice already provided on this board, I would just like to say that you can get an evaluation copy of the Archiving tool people have mentioned either from us in the UK, or from Unbeaten Path in the US. We at Small Blue are the authors of the tool which over here is known as 'Archiving for BPCS', however our partners Unbeaten Path sell it on the other side of the pond as 'Locksmith'.
We also provide BPCS SQL tuning services! References for this in Ireland include Novartis Dublin, and ABS Pumps in Wexford.
Let me know if you need any further information or help, best regards, Clare Clare Holtham Director, Small Blue Ltd - Archiving for BPCS Web: www.smallblue.co.uk IBM Certified iSeries Systems Professional Email: Clare.Holtham@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew" <andrewroe@xxxxxxxxxx>

I have been asked to look into ways of removing 'soft-deleted' records fromour BPCS 6.1 database. For example our FMA file has over 2.3 million recordof which 2.2 are 'soft-deleted'. Before I go down the programming route I would appreciate any advice the forum can give me regarding files that can be successfully cleaned-up and what files should not be touched. I am aware of the BPCS supplied cleanup routines but am of theunderstanding that they target specific files or data-sets and do not applysoft-deletes across all of the BPCS tables?
