Now that I've thought about this a bit, this will be even easier. You're going to do a full fiscal year end, close your books on the 23rd., cleare out your GL (save it first) and open up a new company with a new GL on the 24th. You don't have to wory about adding another period because you will have a new company with year 1 being 1 period long (8 days). You will have zero sales, zero GL, zero everything...

Merry Christmas,

Guy

[BPCS-L] An Extra Period

Good morning,

It seems that I've got an unusual situation fast approaching. Our parent
company has been sold and the sale will be finalized on Dec. 23. Because
of this I'm told that we will need to do a period-end on that day in
addition to the normal monthly period-end. That would give us 13 periods
this year instead of just 12. Next year we would be back to 12 periods.

We are on version 4.0.2 with a 3rd party Y2K mod and we use the financial
modules. One concern that came to mind is fixed assets. How would they
be
impacted? As for setting something like this up I want to make sure that
our 13th period is for 2004 and not a period 1 of 2005. I had thought
that
this was in System Parameters Generation but after looking through our
test
database I don't see it. Are there any other issues or concerns that we
need to think of? Thanks.
