Doug, There is no way to distiguish planned order source, especially for child items. It is possible to set the demand codes to orders only for a period of time as defined by the demand time fence field but you will still experience planned orders to meet minimum balance targets regardless. The cumulative lead time should include all items so I suspect that you may have your systems setting such that it is using the IIM records rather than the CIC records to determine lead time. There is a switch somewhere in SYS but it escapes me at this point. We have a safety stock set as a minimum balance in MRP140 for a manufactured parent, but during planning the purchased child does not appear to take into consideration the lead time of both the parent and child. As a result the planned orders always have an expedite message attached to them. In addition, we would like to distinguish between orders planned to meet customer requirements vs. those planned to meet minimum balance requirements. Is there some specific setup that we need to follow to get this to work? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
