We have prorated the sales forecasts for years. It does cause quite a bit of confusion with certain functions, but so would not prorating the forecasts. It is an issue of training and getting the proper departments to understand what they are looking at. It also works best for made to stock items. If your product line is make to order, it is probably not a good idea. Hi All, Just curious if any of you have the system parameter "Prorate Forecasts?" set to Y. We did a long time ago (in Oct. 1996, set it from Y to N I think mostly due to confusion -- caused w/ the sales staff). Anyways I have a request to turn this flag back on. Also, we use demand code 1 "Greater of Forecasts and Customer Orders". Any comments appreciated. Thanks in advance :-). Oh yeah, we are on 4.05 CD. Can you point to the article which addresses this point? Believe me, what people are "bitching" about is not a fabrication, it is a fact.
