This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] We are in the process of evaluating the use of forecasted orders to help us on long lead time items for one specific customer. I've searched the archives, and I've seen where you there is an order type which consumes the forecast. What order type is used on the forecasted order, and what order type is used on the actual order? Do people typically use firm planned orders? Any information on the subject is much appreciated.
Its the demand planning codes in Facility planning data or Item Master that govern whether or not Orders Consume forecasts. Forecast orders are directly created in the KMR file via forecast entry or the FOR module. It is also possible (and not too difficult) to interface other forecast and analysis packages into KMR. -- Mike Ozanne
