i would suspect that the upgrade to the interactive processing speed makes no difference as these jobs run as batch jobs on the as/400. it's also hard to believe that tcp/ip is causing the problem of 10 minute screen changes. there's a whole section about how to configure these jobs in the bpcs redbook from IBM. i'd certainly review it for any ideas that it might have. >>> jason.schemmel@glbsoft.com 02/05/02 10:44AM >>> I have a question for anyone regarding the BPCS Client/Server Modules. We just upgraded our AS/400 to a model 820. We upgraded our feature card to allow for more interactive processing (CPW I=240, B=950). We also converted our client server communications from token-ring to TCP/IP. Ever since we did this, we have been experiencing periods of unacceptable response time from both Load Control and the General Ledger. We will receive TCP/IP time out messages in the C/S modules. Some of the screens will take upwards of 10 minutes to change. Looking at the performance data being captured on the 400, it does not appear to be an AS/400 horsepower issue. Is it possible that there is a fix from SSA to improve the performance of the C/S modules? We are running version 6.0.04 of BPCS in case this makes a difference :) I would greatly appreciate any help that you may be able to offer in resolving this problem.
