I am working at a BPCS 2.7 site. Here, VLA tells the backflush process how many items to backflush against a particular shop order. In other words, if the shop order is for 10 "PARENT1"s and "PARENT1" calls for a quantity of 4 "CHILD1"s to be backflushed for each "PARENT1" and you only will be backflushing 2 "PARENT1"s, then VLA will have 8 as the quantity for "CHILD1". Shop order : Build 10 "PARENT1" Parent item : Requires 4 "CHILD1" per each "PARENT1" Labor ticket : Are reporting 2 "PARENT1"s VLA file : Quantity of 8 "CHILD1". Inventory will be reduced by 8 "CHILD1" Hope this helps. In general, this is just the most simple of outlines. In the labor ticket reporting and backflush there is a lot more going on. I try to stay away from modifications. I just looked at it and it only contains 3 records at this time. I do not have matching FLT records for these three items either. Is this a working file during the SFC650 posting? Thank you for the input! Beth A. We are currently posting shop orders using the SFC650 backflushing for labor and components. Has anyone tried to automate this process using bar coding on the BPCS shop packet - and an employee time card? I don't believe we have CIMpath and according to SSA that is what we would need. Is anyone else using this? What issues did you have? I would be interested to hear of others successes or failures... Thank you in advance. Beth A.
