When our accounting department runs ACP650D to create checks, we have the
occasional problem of a check being skipped in the middle of the check run. SSA
is unable to determine what has caused this problem which has occurred
approximately 4 times in the past years.

For example: If 10 checks are generated with Vendors named 'A through J' the
vendor named 'F' would not print on the 6th check but vendor 'G' would be (6th)
in it's place in the check run. To generate the correct number of checks (10)
the system would add the next vendor alphabetically to the end of the run to
make 10 checks. So instead of having vendors A though J print, it would print A
through E, skip vendor F, and print vendor G through K.

SSA says we must turn on Document Sequencing to solve this problem, and is
reluctant to help us any further unless we do. To turn on ACP document
sequencing, SSA has told us that we need to go through our files (ATX, APH, APL
& ASD) and create joining sequence numbers between our existing records. We
would then need to go into ACP180 and change the prefix to a '1' to turn on ACP
document sequencing.

Are most people using document sequencing? I know we have not had it turned on
since we first installed BPCS almost 10 years ago,and this is the first problem
we've had where SSA is pointing to a document sequencing problem.

We're about to upgrade from 6.0.02, to 6.1.01, and are thinking of turning
documetn sequencing on at that time, but it seems like we would still have to go
through the time and error-prone process of manually updating all those files
with the matching document numbers. Is there a better way?
