Cool guys,

Excuse my ignorant.  I'm not aware that IBM is giving support to BPCS at this level.
I'll take a look at redbook and respond later.

Thanks a lot

Hi,

This is in fact addressed in the Redbook in the chapter which Peter mentions, and has nothing to do with scheduling jobs. Chapter 11.6.1 is about how to set up Order Entry for best performance. This includes the use of submitting the ORD701B job to batch and outlines the steps required to set this up. If you read this section you will see that it has nothing to do with how to schedule jobs on the AS/400. The user must be set up to post orders in batch individually (there is not a system wide setting, it is set up per user).  Chapter 15.1.7 mentions the subsystem and how to retain the set up if you are running both Mixed Mode and Full Client Server BPCS over the same BPCS database (files library).

Thanks

Hey Peter,

I understand how to schedule jobs. ORD701B is submitted from another job i.e I thing the user enter specific criteria from an interactive session which then submits ORD701B.

Check the Redbook Chapter 11.6.1 (Page 201) and Chapter 15.1.7 (Page 280).  This
may help.
