The annual survey of ERPs in ERP Midrange magazine indicates that at 20,000 
sites using BPCS world wide, BPCS is second largest ERP for mid-sized 
companies, including those running on purely PC platforms, so big enough is 
not the issue.  http://www.mfg-erp.com

I suspect because SSA does not advertise in the right places with competent 
marketing ... you may have noticed that a lot of computer press treats the 
AS/400 as either non-existant or a platform no longer worthy of 
consideration, and some people attribute this phenomena partly due to IBM 
marketing that says "IBM is the solution" without enough platform-specific 
marketing & partly because of a common mentality today that anything invented 
many years ago (like transportation) is no good purely because it was not 
invented yesterday.
