We are at 6.0.04 April '98 Cum. We have come across a problem in DRP540 where the planned release date is not being correctly calculated on outstanding orders dating from December 1999 resulting in an execution error. Further investigation reveals that the date calculator used has two formats by which BPCS retrieves dates in integer mode. This mode is used for calculations between two or more dates. Format *JUL retrieves the Julian date based on days from the start of the current year so that for example 13th January 2000 is returned as 00013 (YYDDD). Format *DAYS retrieves the Julian date based on days from the start of the twentieth century so that 13th January 2000 is returned as 36172. As far as we can see BPCS uses *JUL in DRP540 which causes the data overflow error. It is our contention that *DAYS should be used here. I can find no reference to this on OGS. Has anybody else experienced this problem ? Are we perhaps missing a BMR or set of BMRs ? Where else in BPCS is *JUL used where *DAYS would be more appropriate? Are we barking up the wrong tree?
