OGS Online search on QSYGETPH brings up 6 hits, all saying similar things:

Platform: A400
Product: SYS
Version: 6.004
Program: ORD
Log Date: 01-20-99
Logged By: NOVAKG
Incident #: 596828- 1
OGS

When it asks you for the sign on getting error message "Connection reset by
peer". On some PCs, error message is, "Cannot send after socket shutdown". Was
working fine last week. They had a power failure last weekend. In test mode.
Using first generation (COM). 2nd generation is fine.
On Windows NT PC, get error message, "cannot send after socket shutdown. On
Win95 PC, get error message, "connection reset by peer". Did NETSTAT but
couldn't find ALAUNCH port 5000. However, view the ALAUNCH daemon joblog and it
appears the CALL to ALAUNCH is correct with PARM('5000'). They had power failure
last week & 1st gen hasn't worked since. An automated program restarted the
daemons, using QPGMR as the user profile. WRKACTJOB showed ALAUNCH job in TIMW.
Changed message logging, and in ALAUNCH joblog could see message MCH1001, saying
'No authority to QSYGETPH'. Gave QPGMR specific authority *ALL to that system
object and tried again. Then got different error in joblog, No authority to
QWTSETP. Gave user profile running daemons the specific authority to that AS/400
program object, and after that, connections were successful. Used command
WRKOBJAUT to give the user profile *ALL authority.

To all,

More mysteries.

The CPF message generated during the IPL is CPF9802 - Not authorized to the
object QSYGETPH in QSYS.
>From Program QLICKOBJ
     From library QSYS
     Instruction 0153
To program STRNWIDV
     To library NEWILIB
     Instruction 00B9

Doing a WRKOBJ on this object (V4R2M0) displays the following:
Display Object Authority

 Object . . . . . . . : QSYGETPH Owner . . . . . . . : QSYS

   Library . . . . . : QSYS Primary group . . . : *NONE

(From V4R2M0 system only)

What is strange is my V4R4M0 system has the same as my V4R2M0 system as far
as the users QSYS, QSRV, & *PUBLIC.

The DG8SVCPRF user is for ASNA's Visual RPG product.

So, I am still confused as to why I get the CPF9802 error on V4R2M0 & not on
V4R4M0.

Any other things I might look at.

Time to head for home & watch Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. GO BUCKY GO.

Spent a few hours yesterday pulling the plug on an F35 running V3R1M0. Good
machine in its day. Now I can move an S20 & a 720 into the same space the 2
cabinet F35 occupied.

Hmmm, that CPF message sure would be handy. A scan of IBM's AS/400
service
site for V4R2 returned 37 hits on a search of "daemon AND start".
All were
closed, so one of them obviously fixes your problem. Any chance
that message
is still out there in QHST on your production box somewhere?
