> Subj: ** BPCS System/36 4.4B to AS400 BPCS 6.1Mixed Mode ** > From: Forwiw@aol.com (Sandy) Some of the fix programs we had to write, before we gave up on using SSA's conversion tools: Records coded for deletion on BPCS/36 get forwarded to BPCS/400 in that state - we wanted to purge some stuff as part of the conversion. ABK plug in 'USD' (US dollars) to ABCURR because blank currency was acceptable on BPCS/36 but not BPCS/400 AMH plug in 'USD' to AMHCUR & 'C' to AMHYTP AML plug in 'USD' to AMLCUR & 'C' to AMLTYP APH plug in 'USD' to APHCUR & 'C' to APHTYP AVM plug in 'USD' to VCURR CDP plugged in the corresponding warehouse to our facilities CIC plug in 'A' to ICORDP CIC populate a lot of fields from corresponding IIM fields ECH had to get the backorder flag fixed HPH needed PHVTXC blanked HPO needed to blank POVTXC & POITXC IIM needed a whole bunch of substitutions, because the rules for item types changed & we had been using some on BPCS/36 that were valid there but not valid on BPCS/400 so we had to come up with a conversion algorithm. e.g. we had to change item type 4 to item type 7, some values that were 0 needed to be reset to 1, some values that were blank had to get some other defaults substituted, then when we switched from SSA conversion to a more flexible approach, the users needs also became more complex. RAR plug 'USD' into RCURR RCM plug 'USD' into CCURR SIH plug 'USD' into SICURR There was other stuff in backlog to write when we abandoned SSA conversion utilities.
