What version of iNavigator do you have? I have 7.1 and this does not
happen anymore. You can get the latest version of iNavigator even for
older IBM I releases.

I think these are tab characters and the easiest way to time them is to
put the cursor in over write mode and move the cursor around until it
changes from the block to the bar.

Thanks, Matt

Subject: [WDSCI-L] iSeries Navigator and Rational

I used iSeries Navigator to produce the SQL for a DDS defined file. I
used copy and paste to put the generated SQL statements into a member in
my QSQLSRC file using Rational.

It appears that iSeries Navigator is adding some control character at
the beginning of each line of the generated SQL statements, which causes
cursor issues when editing the member in Rational. The issue is that the
cursor on the line does not seem to follow the physical cursor on the
screen. When I position the screen cursor on the CHAR( keyword and press
Backspace, CHAR( stays as is, but the field name starts to lose
characters.

Does anyone know if there is a setting in iSeries Navigator or Rational
that can be changed to not have the special character be added (in
Navigator), or recognized (in Rational)? Does anyone know if there a PTF
or an APAR that may fix this issue?

Thank you,

Doug
