In some cases when you use a proxy server, there is a  proxy client that 
"takes over" your TCP/IP stack and routes traffic to the proxy server.  In 
this scenario, there is usually a configuration aspect to the client that 
allows you to list IP addresses to exclude so that traffic to those IP 
addresses does not go through the proxy (like 192.168.0.x or something). 
Since neither OS/400 nor JT400 will just drop the connection, and it 
appears that there are no network failures causing it, I would say the 
traffic is going through the proxy server and it has a timeout value of 90 
- 120 minutes.  The keepalive causes some traffic to happen every 15 
minutes so it does not timeout.
