Veering off-topic just a bit, but I've decided to never by ink again. I
stock up on printers with rebates that knock the price down so that it
matches (or is lower than) what I would spend on ink replacments.

I've never officially tested it but I've heard more than once that the ink
cartridges that come with most ink jet printers (cheap or not) are smaller
or are filled with less ink than the replacement cartridges. That
certainly seemed to be the case with a cheap Lexmark that I bought a couple
of years ago so the family could print in color. Then again, they may have
used it more at first.

My wife does a ton of printing both, work and personal so when our old
laser printer died I bought a copier/printer/scanner that used laser
printing instead ink jet. The trend for the 3-in-one devices was ink jet
printing so I had to look a bit but I found one from Brother that has
worked like a champ.
