Another FYI, more generally: There is a PTF cross-reference listing
that is created and maintained [for at least a release(N-1) to a
release(N)], specifically to enable preventing encountering such
issues on an upcoming upgrade. The listing allows ensuring that each
currently applied PTF on release(N) has a currently available PTF
[corresponding to the upgrade-to-release(N+x) PTF; where N+x is a
/supported/ upgrade path]. That other PTF would be ordered for load
and apply after the upgrade, if not already on the cumulative that is
ordered/planned for that upgrade; or lack thereof, serves as an
indication that the currently applied maintenance at release(N) is
not currently available on release(N+x) [such that possibly,
depending on severity, there may be cause to delay the upgrade].

FWiW, the following web search gave as the second item [for me], the
quoted text that follows:
"[PDF]SF97064 V7R2M0 TO V7R3M0 FIX CROSS-REFERENCE SUMMARY ...
ibm.com/systems/electronic/support/s_dir/...nsf/PDFPbyNum/.../SF97064.pdf
Sep 25, 2016 - PTF/FIX NUMBERS FROM THE CROSS-REFERENCE SUMMARY WITH ALL
OF THE PTFS. LISTED ... V7R2M0 SI60261 V7R3M0 SI61076."

Of course I can not be sure of when that specific data was capable
of being searched on the web, but the cross-reference would have
been available since sometime soon after the release was made
available; i.e. a link to that "fix cross-reference summary" document
could be located without knowing any specific PTF numbers.

I apparently clicked on the following result from the above web search, a link to the IBM Knowledge Center, but failed to add that as a reference; I could have just skipped writing the above and sent just this:

[IBM i 7.2->IBM i and related software->Maintaining and managing IBM i and related software->Using software fixes->Fixes concepts and terms->Where to find information about fixes->Cross-reference summary lists](http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_72/rzam8/rzam8fixcrossrefsummlist.htm)
"Use this summary list to make sure you order any fixes for the new IBM® i release that you had at the previous release.

The fix cross-reference summary list itemizes fixes from an earlier release that are included in the current release. Use this list to make sure you order any fixes for the new release that you had at the previous release, but are not included in the list. These fixes will not have the same number, but they correct the same problem.

To order this list electronically, select the version and release of the operating system you are moving from and use the corresponding command. See the Send PTF Order (SNDPTFORD) command table for the fix cross-reference summary in [Ordering fixes using the Send PTF Order command](http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_72/rzam8/rzam8fixobtainsndptford.htm?view=kc).

To make sure that you order any fixes for the new release that you had at the previous release, review the fix cross-reference summary list.
