not mentioned in the document is the IBM i 7.3; only v5r4 6.1, 7.1,

The Classic Java™ commands ANZJVAPGM, ANZJVM, CHGJVAPGM, CRTJVAPGM,
DMPJVM, DSPJVAPGM, and the Classic Java API QJVARJPI have been removed in
IBM® i 7.2.

Of course, no suggested alternatives

So not only was the document that I referenced, not well maintained for inclusiveness for IBM i 7.3, but also was untested for what is even claimed for applicability; i.e. obviously nobody tested the offered DSPJVAPGM invocations on v7r2 [or v7r3], if that command no longer exists!

The information about release level must be stored in the stream file that is the .jar; perhaps decompressed, there will be some form of what translates into something like, for example V7R1M0 or V07R01; though perhaps even more likely they could be stored as one-byte integers or packed decimal without any characters -- reviewing the file directly, I noticed that DSPF seems not to support a hex data search :-(
