Ubuntu is supported on Power8 only.

There is at least one other open distribution (that escapes memory retrieval just now)

Nigel Griffiths says Power7 supports Fedora-18-ppc64 and Debian 7. These won't have all the DLPAR bits and whatnot installed but they load and run.
