I think the straw which finally broke the camel's back on the fat client
was the hassle of rolling out new upgrades.
When you finally got "check service level" working fine Windows kept
adding more and more crap like you had to be signed on as an
administrator, be the 29th day of February, and have sacrificed two goats
and 24 pairs of pure doves in order to get "check service level" to work.
Something that wasn't going to happen for the average user.
