I do appreciate the help, and the passing on the making fun.  It's a hard habit to break referring to the system as an AS/400.  
And you just painted the clearest picture I could have asked for.  Management at this level is still new to me but I am so glad
I stumbled upon a great group of people so willing to help.

This is where you may be confused.
You can have multiple sized disk units in your ASP, we do.  What you
cannot have is multiple sized units in a RAID set.

If you're going to use RAID, set that up BEFORE you add, AND BALANCE, the
disks to the ASP.

I see Larry already had his fun with you using AS/400 so I'll pass on
that.
