The customer has most likely outsourced their EDI to Ariba. We have the
same setup here with some of our trading partners with companies like
Commerce Hub and SPS Commerce. These third-party companies essentially
act as your customer's EDI department.

Subject: RE: Ariba and AS2 Transactions
We have a call with Ariba tomorrow to learn more.
Basically our customer has a customer who is asking them to send and
receive order data using Ariba.
Ariba has said that they support AS2 transmissions.
In my eyes I think of us uploading and downloading order data from
Ariba, but it's probably more than that.
That's why I was confused when they talked about the need to set up our
own AS2 server.
Will know more tomorrow :-)

- For outbound EDI we send transactions to the Ariba AS2
- For inbound EDI would Ariba send transactions to the
customers AS2 server or can the customer do a pickup from Ariba without
have a server.
If the customer has an AS2 server of their own, there would be little
point in paying for Ariba.
How are they sending the data to Ariba? What transport mechanism and
what data format?
Getting the data from Ariba depends on what Ariba supports.
