Read the infocenter on journalling. Basically you
- create a journal receiver. CRTJRNRCV
- create a journal. CRTJRN
- STRJRNPF
Lots of detail in there, like journal management, etc. How long do you
retain journal receivers? Do you journal both before and after images?
For this, I wouldn't journal opens and closes. For the real journal
propeller head you need to read some Larry Youngren stuff but you can get
started without it.

Once you get started. Modify some source members. Then try DSPJRN. See
if that fits your bill. Look at all the function keys for different
levels of detail while using DSPJRN. Some show you the data that was
changed. Some show you more detail about the job, user, etc that made the
change.
