You are right, of course. Excuse my sloppy English. I should have written
"almost" to specs. There is a comment in a link I've just sent Brad (
http://www.rfc-editor.org/errata_search.php?rfc=3696 ) that explains that,
as part of the max length of a SMTP address one must consider the opening
and closing brackets (< , >) . Although this shouldn't be part (a least as
I see it) of the "mailbox" part maximum length (64 chars), I wonder if
that's why IBM is one character short...
