Setting up EE is much simpler (and cheaper) than re--writing a whole
lot of existing plumbing.

Getting rid of SNA might be one way but it's not the *only* way and is
not ipso facto the "right "way - it just happens to be your way.

Contrary to your experience which relates primarily to your own site
I've seen plenty of customer sites where SNA going away would be a
much bigger issue than the minor effort involved in setting up EE.

Frankly I don't understand how you can dismiss this option when you
don't know what it takes to set it up.
