Don't the SAVRSTxxx commands use APPC/APPN or SNA or TCP/IP (via
Anynet or Enterprise Extenders)...

I'm guessing those are getting hard to find...

Third option is optic bus, which I guess is still available at
7.1....but big $$$$...

That's pretty heavy. Didn't even know the thing existed. It's installed on
our system. Don't how many other people have it. Tried it and it worked. As
quick as my FTPOBJ.

Hi Alan

Sounds like a useful utility. I do wonder, though, what SAVRSTOBJ
doesn't give you. Or SAVRSTLIB. Those are free, just not usually
installed - part of the ObjectConnect component of SS1. Many errors on
the target system do get reported back to the source, and it's always
possible to know the job on the target, where to look for messages.

Anyhow, just curious!

I have posted a new utility at www.think400.dk/downloads.htm called
FTPOBJ.

This utility consists of a command called FTPOBJ that will FTP 1 to 200
objects between two iSeries systems.

The processing can be run interactive (default) or in batch.

All objects except save files are saved to a save file and then restored
on
the remote system. Save files are just transferred directly.

The main advantage of using FTP is speed. It is extremely fast.

Enjoy. Let me know if you questions or concerns.
