Is this to generate System i passwords?

If so, I would recommend http://www.random-password.co.uk

Although it only generates 40 passwords at a time it's your best bet
(without having to download a password generation program) as you can
restrict it to just use A-Z, 0-9. It doesn't create a file though - just
lists the generated passwords on screen, but you could always run it the
required number of times and cut'n'paste the results to a file.

http://www.randpass.com will generate up to 100 random 8 character
passwords in one go. It doesn't create a file either. But assuming your
requirement is for System i passwords, it won't be much use to you as each
one contains a non-alpha character which most likely won't be valid for
system i passwords. For example:

zi<arrde
hi.dyisi
nei|cedo
sur}isla

I guess you could search and replace all the non-alphas with valid
characters, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having them
automatically generated, although it would still be quicker than trying to
generate the passwords yourself - there aren't that many special
characters.

I think http://www.random-password.co.uk is better than any of the other
real-time (i.e. non-download) password generators I've seen - most of them
will only generate one password at a time.

There are various downloadable password generation programs - which I'd
love to look at, but I get enough complaints about hogging the bandwidth
as it is.

Generating a file of 8 character passwords

Anyone know of a free program which will randomly generate a file of
passwords (approx. 500 of them)?
